My portfolios demonstrate my relaxed yet professional approach to photography, be it a romantic or a dramatic occasion before the lens of my camera. Life moves on but memories of time, place and people can be evoked with the help of a photograph. In other words, I believe that the perfect picture goes beyond perfect composition. It involves capturing the essence of the day, the spirit of the people and the magic of spontaneity.
My Photography Background
I was born in Gower, where I was fortunate to be brought up with the awe-inspiring scenery and views of the Gower coast and countryside on my doorstep Gower was Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it was almost inevitable that when I discovered an interest in photography, the Gower landscape would provide a ready-made canvas for expressing my love of nature and the natural world.
Gower not only fuels my passion for photography and provides the impetus for my business, but also shapes my entire way of life. The great outdoors is where I am most comfortable, hence my leisure time is spent surfing, walking, fishing and taking photographs in this, my personal paradise.
My relationship with Gower springs from my passion for its obvious, magical beauty and has further developed into love and respect for Mother Nature. Learning to understand and work with nature’s many moods and Gower’s varied landscape has been a training that no college or school could offer. Whether it be howling winds, driving rain and raging seas on rocky cliff faces; glorious sunshine on paradise beaches; the bitter chill of morning frost on diamond-hard fields; the joy of new-born lambs; or the screech of swifts overhead in the blue of summer, Gower always makes me smile and appreciate my life and my job that I truly love.
Speaking from my heart, I fell in love with Gower many years ago; Gower is the essence of my life and my work and I wouldn’t be where I am today without its unique power to influence my every mood and waking moment. Gower has therefore been my training ground and motivation in photography. The patience needed to capture just the right moment in time and colour as, for example, the sun sinks before finally dipping below the western horizon beyond Burry Holmes, is often applied to other aspects of my work.
My Photography Business
I have developed my business from my studio at home in Pitton, the village where I was born. In this way, I am fortunate enough to live and work surrounded by the unique combinations of Gower landscapes and nature’s elements – the building blocks of my work that have taught me how to look at people, places, events and occasions with photography in mind. My work with landscapes and nature has taught me how to get the right picture, in the right light and to look at my subject from every perspective.
All the photographs I take are treated with the utmost respect. They are backed-up onto three separate external storage drives and are never deleted. The images are managed and worked on by my highly trained editor before being presented for viewing by you, my client, in the portfolio section of my website. This facility allows you to browse through your personal portfolio in your own time, in your own home, via the internet.

The wedding photography section explains and demonstrates this aspect of my work where my intention is to be as unobtrusive as possible whilst capturing the essence of the day with the same insight and freshness that distinguishes my work as a landscape photographer.
Within the wedding photography section, you can view portfolios of images from every wedding at which I have been the photographer. A small selection of photographs from each occasion is available to view on-line, without the need for the personal password normally required to access the full portfolio.
The landscape photography section concentrates on Gower at its best and is my way of sharing my love of the many magical places around me. The family portrait section includes examples of my work on location, whether at the family home, on the beach or in the park. Thus, my local and professional knowledge enable me to suggest locations for family or individual portraits that will make best use of landscape, light, time and place to reflect and suit the individuality of each client.
